I was thinking something like that, but it could become cooler with the merging of Maya.. i mean if i click on a day, will appear next to calendar which events there will be in that day..

Yum!

Not sure about the padding to the sides of the calender widget though. I think the side padding should be equidistant w.r.t. the top and/or bottom padding if at all possible. Just my tuppence. :-)

Well I'm following the padding rules for the menus also.

(12px space)(16px icon)(12px space)(Label)

And since icons don't show in the menus, it looks like there's 40px of space. And a general rule is that widgets have a 12px space between the edge and itself, so yeah.

I see the logic. It does lead to a visual quirk here though, as with the very inset status indicators in the messaging menu (which I've always thought could use a similar treatment to the running apps edge indicators).

Brilliantly clean design though. It'd be nice to see hoe multiple timezones and/or weather data would look.

I guess this means going with a custom solution then, indicators won't allow us to use popovers ...

Or maybe gtk can put arrows on the menus. :)
